Don’t just take our word for it!
Here is a recent review:
“Wessons draws loyal customers from all parts of the local community who appreciate the excellent food and service, comfortable dining experience and free wifi; all this has helped earn them a spot on the short list for the Sussex Food and Drink awards. Make no mistake though, bikers will always be at the heart of the business.
Steve said “We are 100% committed to bikers. I’ve been on the bike business for 25 years now, first running the motorcycle shop and later turning the focus on the cafe. This is an ideal spot for us, not only are we in the middle of a nice little village with a great plot of land near trails and cycle paths but we also benefit from some of the best roads around.”
You can cut down to Brighton on the A27 and enjoy a stop on the seafront. Steve recommends a cup of tea at the Madeira café if you’re going in that direction. Riding around this area of Sussex you will see every manner of scenery, from motorways to quaint villages with chocolate box cottages and amazing twisty roads with leafy tunnels.
Wessons is constantly evolving and Steve’s enthusiasm for the future is clear. “We are gathering loads more memorabilia to put onto the wall including early pictures of British bikes; a local farming family has donated great pictures of four generations of his family on motorcycles.”
On Sundays, even through the winter, Wessons is bursting at the seams with bikers. Steve has installed a new counter by the door just for drinks in order to cut down on the queues.
If you haven’t been to Wessons yet, hopefully you have more than enough reason here to make a stop the next time you’re in the area. If you need a few more reasons, there’s the lemon and blueberry cake, Coffee and walnut cake, treacle tart, pecan pie, homemade bread pudding…we’ll stop there, we’re drooling on the keyboard.”

“Great place – highly recommended ”
This is such a brilliant place which is really friendly and serves a huge variety of really good food. The food menu varies from your great big fry up brekkie to things like homemade cakes and well made sandwiches. All the food I have had has been hot and tasty and I have been to this place several times now. What I really like about Wessons is that it is so easy going and not at all pretentious – some cafes you turn up at are a bit clicky and you feel a bit self conscious (especially as most of the time my husband and I are fully kitted out in our cycling Lycra!) but here you just rock up, always manage to get a table and no one gives a monkeys what you are up to. It is a bikers cafe so lots of lovely shiny bikes rolling up with leather clad bikers but Wessons seems to welcome everyone. Nice seating outside too, about 4 tables, nice and comfy and covered. Highly recommend this place and wish we had more like this on our cycle routes around Sussex.
